- Diet- eating less red meat, processed meat (ham, bacon, sausage), more fish and more fibre from cereal, beans, fruit and vegetables may help reduce the risk.
- Exercise- regular exercise can lower the risk of bowel cancer
- Healthy Weight- maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce your risk
- Stop Smoking- quitting smoking reduces the risk of bowel and other cancers
- Cut Down Alcohol- it is advised not to regularly drink more than 14units a week, spread your drinking over 3 days or more if you drink as much as 14 units
- Get Screened- screening helps in early detection. This makes it easier to treat and increases the chances of surviving from the cancer.
